Taipei Is Home to the World’s First Urban Quiet Park!
“On June 5, coinciding with World Environment Day, Taiwan’s government and California-based non-profit organization Quiet Parks International will certify Yangmingshan National Park as the world’s first official Urban Quiet Park, defined as a natural area in or near a city that offers culturally relevant quiet experiences to urban dwellers. ‘A quiet park is not just about the decibel levels,’ says Vikram Chauhan, president and co-founder of QPI, ‘It’s about the ability of the park to make you feel peaceful.’”
Our protected spaces have a priceless value which contribute to our well-being.
